چکیده
Several plant species have been studied as reinforcement elements against landslides at slopes, either to protect the splash effect offered by shoots or anchoring soil root system. The objective of this work was investigate influence roots from shrub over mechanical attributes such cohesion and angle internal friction São Francisco riverbank, northeastern Brazil. A trench excavated under treetop every shrubby individual, sampling blocks 0-0.25, 0.25-0.50, 0.50-0.75, 0.75-1.00 m depths. moisture contents, particle size, liquidity limits, plasticity actual specific mass samples were determined. physical initial final weight, void content, degree saturation, shear resistance peaks, cohesion, identified through direct, elementary, consolidated, undrained tests. In with Solanum paniculatum, Mimosa pigra species, highest values for registered roots. Sesbania virgata presented greatest variation in among without position status influenced results direct

Biodiversity assessment of benthic macroinvertebrates along a reservoir cascade in the lower São Francisco river (northeastern Brazil).
In order to verify the cascade-system effect in benthic macroinvertebrate communities, and the implications for policy making and proposals for conservation and sustainable use of the lower portion of São Francisco river basin (Bahia State, Brazil), a three-reservoir cascade system including two stretches downstream were studied during dry (June, 1997) and rainy (March, 1998) periods. The domin...

The endoparasite fauna of Astyanax fasciatus from the upper São Francisco river was investigated and ecological parameters and morphological and morphometric data on the parasites are presented. A total of 74 specimens of banded astyanax were collected downstream from the Três Marias dam, municipality of Três Marias, Minas Gerais (18°12'32"S, 45°15'41"W) in January 2011 and January 2012. The parasite fauna of catfish, Pimelodus pohli, from the São Francisco River Basin is presented. A total of 45 catfish from the upper São Francisco River (45°15'44″W 18°13'25″S), were examined from July 2009 to September 2011. Forty-three catfish (95.5%) were infected by at least one parasite species, with 885 parasite specimens being found, distributed across 17 species: Monogenea (Demidosperm...
متن کاملthe effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)
cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
